The IMVIA

The Imported Motor Vehicle Industry Association Incorporated ("IMVIA") is the business association that represents the interests of the wider trade involved in importing, preparing, wholesaling and retailing the majority of used vehicles imported from Japan, Singapore and other jurisdictions.

IMVIA members include importers, wholesalers, Japanese auction companies and exporters, shipping companies, inspection agencies, NZ Government-contracted Transport Service Delivery Agents, ports companies, compliance shops and other service providers to the trade.

The IMVIA provides legal and technical advice to the trade, and liaises closely with the relevant government departments, including Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment NZ, Transport Agency, Ministry of Transport, NZ Customs Service, Ministry for Primary Industries, Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Commerce Commission, Energy Efficiency & Conservation Authority, Ministry for Environment etc.
